About the Australian GoldWing Association
The Australian GoldWing Association (AGA) was established in the early 1980s and is Australia’s largest Club for owners, riders and enthusiasts of Honda GoldWing motorcycles.
It is a social Association that encourages others, by example, to strive for and attain high standards as motorcyclists, and to promote and establish the GoldWing and its Rider as an example of all that is worthwhile about motorcycling.
The AGA provides a means whereby like-minded individuals can meet in a social environment to experience and enjoy the pleasures of riding the World’s greatest touring motorcycle in a country that has some of the greatest motorcycling roads in the World.
The AGA has numerous branches – known as Chapters – throughout Australia. Each Chapter is managed by a locally elected leader known as an Area Representative. Each Area Representative liaises with the National Committee and provides a point of contact for existing and prospective Members in the local area and surrounding districts.
The highlight of the AGA’s touring calendar each year is the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Hundreds of enthusiasts gather together for four days of friendship, fun and festivities that include night-time and daytime parades, local rides, the annual general meeting and AGM event dinner. AGMs have been held in towns all over Australia, including Ulverstone in Tasmania, Hervey Bay in Queensland, and Kapunda, Naracoorte and Renmark in South Australia. Albany and Busselton in Western Australia, Broken Hill, Cooma, Gloucester, Gunnedah, Leeton, Mudgee and Taree in New South Wales, and Echuca, and Port Fairy in Victoria.
Other Events held during the year include Chapter meetings and rides, inter-chapter rides, camping and holiday park weekends, charity rides, static displays, maintenance days and other social activities.
Wings – the AGA’s official magazine – is produced eleven times each year. The National Committee members, Area Representatives and other Members contribute articles about recent and upcoming Rides and Events, in addition to reporting on other items of interest to members. Wings contains advertisements from commercial suppliers of products and services that are of particular interest to GoldWing owners, as well as a section where members can sell, swap, trade and/or buy items.
Not surprisingly, the AGA has its own range of Merchandise. The clothing range include wool jackets, polar fleece vests and jackets, chambray shirts, t-shirts, polo shirts, hats and caps. We also have other items like name badges, patches and adhesive acrylic decals. All our Merchandise is of a very high quality and is beautifully embroidered or printed with the Club logo, the Honda ‘Red Wing’ logo or, on the back of jackets and vests, the word GoldWing in the unmistakable “GoldWing” font and the Griffin Eagle.
Over its history, the AGA has had a great number of Members, and many of these who donate their time and efforts to keeping the Club running as well as a much loved ‘Wing. The National Committee thanks these Members and their Families for the invaluable services they provide our Club ‘Family’, and look forward to more Members coming on board, as well as those Members who are able to assist in Club operations or at Events.
